2012 Flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Hassan Abdulai Ayariga says Ghanaians made a right choice in voting for President John Dramani Mahama in the December 7/8 Elections.
“Even though we contested him, I think Ghanaians have made a right choice,” Hassan Ayariga said on Thursday, February 7, 2013 when he, together with 2012 Independent Presidential Candidate Jacob Osei Yeboah, paid a courtesy call on President Mahama on his first day at work at the Flag Staff House-Kanda.
“We have a president who is modest, a president who believes in the rule of law, a president who believes in all-inclusive government and a president who thinks Ghana is for all of us,” Hassan Ayariga said.
According to the PNC Leader, he as well as Mr Yeboah, will continue to support President Mahama in his quest to develop the country.
“We have lost but we will support him,” Mr Ayariga stressed.
On his part, Mr Yeboah, whose tagline during the elections was JOY 2012, stated that they decided to call on the president because of his embracement of all-inclusive governance
“You have the view of national unity. Therefore, your call for all-inclusive governance has given us that energy to be here because we are quite hopeful that the old political polarization that has served as an inertia towards national development must give way to a visionary momentum that will ensure our socio-economic development,” he pointed out.
President Mahama admonished all to put the elections behind them so “we can come together as one country as Team Ghana and work towards building our nation.”
He said his undertaking to Ghanaians to run an open government is what has informed his call for an all-inclusive governance.
He added that he will make the best use of all the human resources of this country no matter political, ethnic or religious affiliation.
